Fourth Grade Literacy
Fourth grade is currently participating in a special Language Arts unit called Literary Reflections. It is organized around the concept of change and has many activities designed to help students understand this concept. A wide variety of literature will stimulate discussion, writing, listening, vocabulary study, and research activities. Students will also read two novels. One novel is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The other novel will be the student's choice. During class, we will read and discuss short pieces of literature: poems, short stories, and folktales. As students read the literature, they will respond to it and think critically about it by analyzing ideas, vocabulary, and structure. |
Students are using technology in each TD session. Projects and assignments are posted in the Google Classroom. Students can access the Google Classroom at any time in order to work on assignments throughout each week.

Musical FractionsThis project uses music notes to develop a deeper understanding of composing and decomposing fractions. Students will discover that music notes actually represent fractional parts of measures of music. Students will apply this understanding to create their own music arrangements, using mathematics to support the accuracy of their creations. Have fun making music!
