Toys Through Time Project "Apple-opoly" |
Third Grade Literacy
Toys Through Time Third grade participated in the Toys Through Time Project. Project Overview: The students chose a toy from the 21st Century and conducted some research. Enough research was collected in order to write a museum label. Next the students chose an event from the 21st Century that they were interested in. (ie.,the Titanic.) The students conducted research and wrote a museum label describing their event and how their toy changed. Once the museum labels were written the toy was changed to represent their event. Finally the creative piece of the project began to show through as students created a tri-fold board to showcase their new toy, event, and change. The tri-fold board were displayed at the Levine Museum of the New South for two days. After the museum display, the projects were set up in the school in a special museum exhibit. Student Council members then evaluated the projects using a scoring rubric. The project receiving the most points won. The winners are pictured! Congratulations Sharlyn, Tuqa, and Joey! |
Students are using technology in each TD session. Projects and assignments are posted in the Google Classroom. Students can access the Google Classroom at any time in order to work on assignments throughout each week.
